Of course in Marley tradition we had a stock pile of less than legal fireworks for the 4th. What's more patriotic than breaking the law? The boys (using the term boys loosely here and including Grandpa and Jason in this category) couldn't wait for dark to watch some of the explosions.

This was Ethan's first experience with fireworks and he wasn't all too impressed. He would cover his eyes ever time, then watch as the fire show fizzled out.
Occasionally he would give a watered down laugh, but it was seriously lacking in feeling!

When it was finally dark the boys curled up with me in a blanket to watch as Jason and Grandpa produced a pretty spectacular fire works display. Jase kept saying, "I do lub my birseday party!" It's always been fun to pass the tradition of celebrating our Nation's Day of Independance with my boys. Watching their eyes light up and hearing their squeals of delight as they wait in anticipation for an explosion of color and light is magical. And joining their birthdays with it has made it all the more wonderful.
looks like you guys had fun
