McDARE Night

McDonald's hosted our first McDARE Night this past week. I was really excited about this fundraiser. Forming a connection between McDonald's and the DARE program has been something I've tried to put together for about 2 years. Finally we've been able to come together and it's a new exciting part of my job. The DARE officers are fantastic and it's great to be a part of a program that is hopefully making a difference in our community. Our local McDonald's sponsored a portion of the new DARE car, which is pretty freakin rad! It's not only a really cool looking car that gets students excited about the DARE program, but it's also a learning tool. It's fully equipped with a flat screen TV and DVD player in the truck for the students to watch DARE videos on. It was a huge draw to have the car at the fundraiser. Kids really enjoyed getting a closer look at it and having their picture taken with the officers.
Toward the end of the night my sweet little boys stopped by to see me, or did they stop by for ice cream??? It's hard to tell.

The fundraiser was a success and we raised $641.10 for the local DARE program! Not too shabby for a two hour event. We plan on making this an annual event and I look forward to it becoming larger and more successful with every year.
